Terms of sale and use

Last updated 28 October 2026

These terms cover buying Landing Cards and accessories from landing-cards.com (“we”, “us”), and using the free map, pilot passport and logbook. They don't take away any of your rights under UK consumer law. Questions? Email the email address at the bottom of this page.

Ordering and prices

  • Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. Delivery, and any taxes or import duties for your country, are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Checkout and payment are handled by our shop provider, Shopify. We never see your full card details.
  • Your order is accepted when we email to confirm it. If we can't supply something (it's out of stock, or the price shown was a clear mistake) we'll tell you and refund anything you've paid for it.
  • Each card is cut and engraved metal. Photos show the design; small differences in finish and tone from one card to the next are part of the material, not a fault.
  • Discount codes and offers: one per order unless the offer says otherwise, no cash value, and they can end without notice. An offer already applied to your order is honoured.

Delivery

  • We'll email you when your order ships, with tracking where the carrier provides it (and, if you've turned notifications on, tell you on your phone). Your order also appears under My orders in your profile when you're signed in with the same email address.
  • Delivery times shown at checkout are estimates. If your order hasn't arrived 30 days after it shipped, tell us and we'll trace it, then replace or refund it.
  • Orders sent outside the UK may be charged import duty or taxes by the destination country when they arrive, unless checkout says they're included.
  • Your order is your responsibility once it's delivered to the address you gave (or to someone there who accepts it).

Changing your mind

You can cancel an order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it. This is your right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

  • Tell us by email within those 14 days (a short note saying you want to cancel, with your order number, is enough), then send the items back within 14 days of telling us.
  • Items should come back as you received them. You can handle and look at a card as you would in a shop; if it's been used or damaged beyond that, we may take the loss in value off the refund.
  • We refund what you paid, including standard delivery, within 14 days of getting the items back (or proof you've posted them), to the card you paid with. Return postage is yours to pay, unless the item is faulty.
  • Bespoke cards made to your own design or for your club or event can't be returned just because you've changed your mind, as they're made for you. They are still covered if they're faulty or not as agreed.
  • Registering a card on your passport doesn't affect any of this.

Faulty or damaged

  • If something arrives damaged or faulty, or isn't what you ordered, tell us (a photo helps). Within 30 days of delivery you can have a full refund; after that, a repair or replacement, or a refund if that isn't possible.
  • We pay to get faulty items back to us.
  • This is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which nothing here limits.

Using the map, passport and logbook

  • The map, pilot passport and logbook are free to use with an account. We'll keep improving them, which means features may change. Optional extras are part of Pilot Pro, below; nothing you've already saved is ever taken away.
  • Your logbook is your record. Keep it accurate; download a copy any time from Export. If an official logbook is required of you (by your licensing authority or an employer), check what they accept.
  • Your passport is private unless you turn on its link or let people follow you. See the privacy policy for what's shared and with whom.
  • You must be 13 or over to have an account. Accounts for 13–17 year olds start with private settings (see the privacy policy).
  • Airfield data comes from OurAirports (public domain), and maps and taxiway layouts from OpenStreetMap contributors. They can be incomplete or out of date.

Pilots, reports and blocking

  • Your name, username and bio can be seen by pilots who find or follow you. Don't use them, or anything else on the site, to harass anyone, pretend to be someone else, share anything illegal or hateful, spam, or post anything you don't have the right to share.
  • Report any pilot from their page if something's wrong; reports go to us, not to them. Block stops someone following you or asking to.
  • We look at every report. We can remove a name, username or bio that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts that break them, especially more than once. If you think we got it wrong, email us and we'll look again.

Pilot Pro subscription

  • Pilot Pro is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price shown on the Pilot Pro page when you subscribe (VAT included). Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe; we never see your full card details.
  • Before you pay, the price, how often you'll be charged, when the first payment is taken and how to cancel are shown next to the button, and checkout asks you to agree to these terms. We keep a record of what you agreed to and email you a copy.
  • It renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. On yearly plans we email you before each renewal. You can cancel any time from your profile (Manage billing): Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account carries on free.
  • Free trial: new members can try Pro free for 30 days, once, with no card needed. If you add a card, the first payment is taken when the trial ends, and we'll remind you before then. If you don't, the trial simply ends.
  • Changing your mind: you can cancel within 14 days of your first paid subscription for a full refund by emailing us. After that, cancelling stops future payments; we don't refund part-used periods unless the law requires it.
  • Founding pilots (those who joined before Pro launched) can keep a lower founding price for as long as they stay subscribed without a break.
  • If a payment fails we'll retry it and let you know; if it can't be taken, Pro ends and your account carries on free. If we change the price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
  • When Pro ends for any reason, nothing you've saved is deleted or hidden. Extras that need Pro (like adding flights beyond the free logbook's 20, or more than the free number of wishlist airfields) just stop until you subscribe again.

If something goes wrong

  • We're responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses.
  • Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If we can't sort out a problem between us, tell us and we'll try to resolve it fairly.
